Originally from Manchester, England, I graduated from Medical School in 1983 and trained as an anesthesiologist throughout the UK before emigrating to the U.S. in 1995. Since then, I have spent most of my professional career in Massachusetts. For the last two decades I have been a frequent visitor to Maine with my wife, Cathryn, who was born in Biddeford. We purchased a home here in 2019 and I still work, part-time, at Maine Medical Center.
So why am I also involved in real estate? Well, to be honest, I have been following the housing market for a long time, and I find the nuances of buying and selling homes both challenging and stimulating. But it is the personal side of real estate that most interests me. A 2019 survey found that over three quarters of Americans found buying and selling a home more stressful than planning a wedding, losing a job and even becoming a parent! That human element cannot be overlooked. I believe my 40 years of patient-centered health care puts me in a unique position to guide the home buyer or seller through the process with compassion and understanding.
